Description Daily post here!!1!
Pretty tired today guys but here is a piece I made when One Punch man was the anime craze yo. I created this within Adobe Illustrator using stacked vector shapes made mostly with the curvature tool. I'd like to create a Youtube tutorial or course on my logo / design illustration process sometime for anyone who could use it. It's honestly a really easy design method to get into and if you're nimble with layers you can create anything you want.

Heres a mini breakdown of the process:

Initial Sketch:
Draw anything you want in design form on some paper or whatever you've got.

Scan Sketch:
Take a picture with your phone and air drop or email it to your computer or laptop (assuming you have a computer and Illustrator).

Trace Sketch:
Use the curvature tool (shift+') or pen tool (P) to easily outline your sketch making points by left clicking then closing the shape by connecting end to end.

Tips for this stage:

- Utilize layers to separate or sort shapes

- With the curvature tool you can double click to create a perfect corner rather than a rounded one

- You can group items by holding (shift) and selecting as many shapes as you want then clicking (command+G). This makes moving shapes on the same layer a breeze. You can ungroup them by selecting them and then clicking (command+g) again or right clicking and selecting ungroup.

Color Shapes:
Once your shapes are made you can move on to working out your colors. I like to use Pinterest to find harmonious color palettes for my art.
Heres a board I created just for pretty palettes! (www.pinterest.com/carsondood/c… )

When you've found a palette you like you can either save it (right click the image then select save) and then place it (within Illustrator go to > File > Place, then locate your saved image and drop it on to your art board.)...
...or you can copy and paste it directly on to your art but this is an impermanent way of adding a file to illustrator. I recommend saving your reference or palettes in a folder within whatever your project file is in.

Once your palette is dropped in you can select any shape and then click (command + I) to prepare the eye dropper tool. You can now click on any color from your selected palette and Illustrator will fill the object accordingly.

Details:
Once your foundational shapes are set and you've got the hang of Illustrator, go ahead and create all those nitty gritty details. Shadows, highlights, patterns; they can all be created using simple vector shapes. Get creative!

Make sure you're saving while you work! (File > Save)

Export:
Boom! All done?
Within Illustrator navigate to (File > Export > Export As)

Name your file whatever floats your boat... (not lliterally)
I like to use a format like this: projectname__versionnumber_modifier   - for example -   Bluetruck_v1_transparentbackground

Now you have many options for the file type. Select what you prefer. (I utilize mostly .jpeg and .png files)

If you have multiple artboards (shift + O) you can select the use artboards box and then define the range of boards you want to export.
Formatting is as such: (1-3) or (1,3, 5) etc

Otherwise click export.
Here you can set your resolution quality and background color if needed.

Tips for this stage:

- If you're looking to export your art as a .pdf go to (File > Save As) and then select .pdf in the file type.

Done!

Tutorial aside:
This show was so incredible (1st season.. haven't seen the second yet), if you like high action badass super hero stuff this show is for you. Saitama is a bald quirky hero who started as a dweeb and worked his way up to super human capabilities with intense daily workouts. Now he one shots any baddie pretty much. The animation studio for season one really struck it out of the park. I believe it was Madhouse Studios at the time.

Anyways thanks for checkin out my art today.
