Description New Zealand's native Reptile - the Tuatara. Endangered, and older than the dinosaur. Couldn't believe this one was just inches from the path we were on, stock still trying NOT to be seen!

I find the tuatara unbelievably cute for some reason. Just love them.

Tuatara! These have to be one of my all time favorite reptiles. Mainly because they're the closest things we have to dinos, (and they're just adorable. xD ) <3 Lucky you got to see one!

LOL

Talking of reptiles, a three metre croc was spotted stranded on the wrong side of a road near here yesterday. It was stranded after the floods went down so I took the camera but couldn't find it. I'm secretly quite pleased because crocs and wide-angle lenses aren't a safe combination.

Use a macro lens then Might be safer!!!

LOL...I've never seen a croc in the wild here despite many sightings by others. The only crocs I've ever seen that weren't handbags are in a zoo. I have a crappy scan of a crappy print somewhere on the computer so I may dump it in scraps.
