OK, so maybe I'm less over the whole Jove story than I thought. This is Destiny Adeline Pierce, both another character in The Olympia Initiative (as the story's now called) and an entry for =Kxhara 's Fat Female Superhero contest:

"This is not so much a critique post as it is a conformation of how absurd the standards of art in the comic book industry have become.

I traveled to San Diego Comic Con this year and participated in the portfolio reviews they where holding from Thursday to Sunday. Althoug

She's a result of the fetal genetic experimentation, like June, but is slightly older. At 21, she lives in Atlanta, Georgia, is a college student, works on the campus radio station, and is generally pretty happy. But the testing left her with superhuman strength, which try as she might she can't supress or hide.

That fact that she's chubby is secondary. Maybe even tertiary. I don't think characters, be they male, female, or superheroes at all, should be defined by their weight. You don't have to look like a supermodel to be a hero, of any kind. I love the idea of this contest. I love everything about it. There is no ideal of beauty. Today everyone should be super thin, 50 years ago everyone loved curves. Ancient societies held heavier women in higher esteem.
