Famicom Detective Club (Famicom Tantei Club in Japan) is one of the original Famicom Disk System series. It was a text-based series, one of the firsts of the kind. Remakes of both games, The Missing Heir & The Girl Who Stands Behind, are set to release today for Nintendo Switch. And here's Case File Number Two. The subject, Ayumi Tachibana, who was originally considered for Melee according to Sakurai, but was decided against because of lack of Western familiarity.

Pros:
* Classic Character - Smash has had the trend of introducing obscure Nintendo characters from the 80's & 90's into Smash with each game.
The original Super Smash Bros. has Ness & Captain Falcon.
Melee has the Ice Climbers & Mr. Game & Watch.
Brawl has Pit & R.O.B.
Smash 4 has Duck Hunt.
So far, Ultimate has had none. This needs to change with DLC.

Cons:
* Lack Of Western Familiarity - The main reason she was dropped in Melee, as Sakurai felt her series, more than any other in the game, would be wildly unfamiliar to international audiences. The remakes of both her games for Nintendo Switch could change that, but we have yet to see if that guarantees Ayumi a spot in Smash Ultimate.
