I'm sorry, I did have another part to go right under this when she goes "I'm the the helpless princess". But due to issues, it was scrapped XP. and also Amethyst-Ocean for giving me the idea unintentionally, she was just doing her own awesome thing for drawing Plant Sam.
This basically turned into a fanfic in my head o-o my gawed even I want to know how this scene would even happened *kicked*

Hey, here's a bit of fun trivia! Have you ever heard of a Strangler Fig? It's a type of tropical fig that, in the beginning of it's life looks much life vines that quickly wrap around the trunk of a tree. The vine-like aerial roots very rapidly reach up as far up the host tree as possible, limbs growing so strong that they begin to choke the life out of the broader tree entrapped in it's grasp. Soon enough, the tree no longer has the strength to continue standing & collapses in on itself leaving behind the Strangling Fig to continue growing in it's place.
Before long, the Strangling Fig's many vine-like trunks become stronger & stronger, circling the hollow space where the host tree once stood, until it becomes it's own independent, self-sustaining tree.
Personally, I like to think that, had Undergrowth actually won; the relationship between him & Sam would've been less of a loving Father/Daughter thing & more like what I'd mentioned above with Sam as the Strangler Fig & Undergrowth as the Unsuspecting Host Tree. My reasoning being that, I feel like, as time would go on, more & more of Sam's actual personality would return to her. If you watch the episode, you can actually see small instances when she DOES seem sad or regretful & I think that if her personality ever fully came back to her, she'd look around her & realized what she'd done. Then, the rage would set in... Followed by hatred... Then, calculating revenge... through slowly stealing a little bit of Undergrowth's energy from him when he's sleeping. Once she'd drained him of most of his power, she'd confront him & unleash ALL of her ANGER & RAGE at him for DARING to invade her home & use her friends & family as FERTILIZER!!
"HOW DARE YOU PLAY WITH THE BALANCE OF NATURE AS IF IT WERE A TOY!! HOW DARE YOU USE ME AS YOUR PUPPET!!! HOW DARE YOU PRETEND THAT YOU CARE ABOUT THE EARTH WHEN THE TRUTH IS THAT YOU COULD CARE LESS!!! IT TAKES MORE THAN PLANTS TO MAKE A PLANET, FOOLISH PRIDEFULL OLD MAN!!! WHERE WOULD YOU BE WITHOUT WATER TO DRINK!?!? WITHOUT THE CARBON DIOXIDE GIVEN OFF BY THOSE YOU REFER TO AS 'FLESH-WALKERS' TO BREATH!?!? WITHOUT THE SUN TO SHINE DOWN & ALLOW YOU THE ENERGY TO PRODUCE FOOD FOR YOURSELF!?!? WHERE WOULD YOU BE WITHOUT THE VERY SOIL IN WHICH YOU REST YOUR ROOTS!?!? WHAT OF THE WINDS THAT CARRY THE SEEDS OF YOUR SO-CALLED CHILDREN'S YOUNG TO A NEW PLACE TO GROW & THRIVE!?!? YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY FORCE IN NATURE, YOU UNGRATEFUL LOUT!!"
My thoughts are that this picture likely takes place some time long after she's sent Undergrowth to meet his judgement.

......dang.... This is the greatest fun facts I've ever given and freaken gives more more ideas for Plant Sam... dang...just dang. Thank you for telling me all this. Honestly I can see what you mean, it's a beautiful idea, I never seen an explanation given like that so amazing. It fits well for Sam and gives a grim story to grow more. geez. I imagine a massive AU made from this, wow. o.o

For whatever reason, I imagine the two as, eventually, having a very steamy & sexy relationship, but with a very real & enduring romance like Morticia & Gomez Addams... I still haven't figured out why...

I wonder... Would Sam still be considered human by that point or a halfa? I mean, personally, I just don't think that she'd be able to stay as just a human after absorbing all of Undergrowth's power. At the very least I feel like she'd be a halfa &, at most, a full fledged ghost, effectively replacing Undergrowth as the new Mistress of the Grove or something.
Hey, what do you think of the idea of Dan's hair actually being made of cold fire? That way Sam can totally run her fingers through it!

I think it would slowly make her a hybrid yes, I can't say ghost but definitely no longer human with that power in her.

Anyway, I'm trying to come up with a decent name for Plant Sam other than Plant Sam. So far the only thing I've come up with is "Samanthemum" or something equally as corny.
I have this scene in my head of this really cheesy, romantic moment between them where they're standing on a balcony, leaning against the railing a few feet away from each other. Then, Dan looks over at Sam out of the corner of his eye so that she doesn't notice that he's looking at her. He glances down to see her hand laying on the rail before shifting his gaze to his own hand, deadly sharp claws clacking rhythmically against the surface.
Looking back up, he ignores the horrifyingly recognizable feeling of a strangely cool heat rising to his face. Yes, he'd experienced it before not long ago while he was impersonating his younger self. When that younger Sam had hugged him, it'd been like nothing had ever changed. For one day he was HER Danny again & a small part of him was almost glad that he hadn't managed to kill her.
Now, it was all he could do to keep his cheeks from turning too noticeably green... He wasn't doing a very good job...
Yet, his claws continued to tap against the rail. He wasn't sure what made him do it. Maybe he hadn't outgrown Danny as much as he'd believed he had & that small part of him that still believed in ridiculous things like "love" had taken over. Whatever the case, Dan lifted his hand so that his middle & pointer fingers stood up then began to walk them across the top of the rail towards Sam, sharp claws clacking the whole way.
Sam, of course, had seen everything from the blush to the claw-walk & decided that, despite how unbelievably schmaltzy it was, that she should play along. With a wry smirk, she began to walk her own middle & pointer fingers towards his incoming hand. It only took a second before she felt his pinky tapping, askance, against hers.
A quick look showed that he was even greener than before, a translucent greenish drop of liquid rolling down the side of his face in the place of sweat. For such a confident individual, he still seemed very shy when it came to matters of the opposite sex.
In a steady move, she wrapped her hand around his so that their fingers were interwoven together. Turning her head to look at him fully, she could see that he was surprised. In the next instant he realized that she was looking at him & had snapped his attention so that he was looking out into the horizon with a very unconvincing scowl adorning his mug.
Looked like she had a tsundere on her hands. Well, that just meant that she'd have to work harder on him...

If you're still looking for a name for Plant Sam, the best I've got is Alraune, the plant-woman in some myths and fictions (like Castlevania, which spells it "Alura Une)".
