She seemed rather light-hearted about it, but Tarrlok worried a little. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
She raised her shoulders, looking helpless. He could see that she was biting back tears, but she managed to stay rather calm at the same time. “It’s just scary, isn’t it? Being back here. I worry about Republic City. And about you.”
Smiling at her, he opened his arms. “Come here you.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, she walked up to him and softly embraced him. He stroked her hair gently and said quietly: “No more worrying tonight – alright? We’re safe for now. We’ll deal with business tomorrow.”
His words seemed to relax her and not only could he feel how her heart rate dropped, she also closed her eyes as she leaned against him, breathing out softly against the fabric of his clothes. He could not help smiling himself.
