I love how we boast about "FREEDUM"Β over here in good old Murica. But so many of us (including the veterans policy makers claim they respect and salute so much) are in circumstances like this.

I appreciate this.. more than you know. I live in Albuquerque, NM in the states. There are so many homeless civilians and veterans alike.. the apathy level in the world has hit an all-time high and it's making me completely sick inside. I've written a piece in my gallery about it actually. Thank you for your pieces regarding the matter. A quiz once asked me, "Which is a less admirable trait to you? Apathy, selfishness, stupidity, or laziness?" I selected apathy because it covers the rest.

I have seen too many people in situations like this. I once talked with a man who had a PhD in mathematics and had been teaching at a university, but became homeless after his landlord increased the rent. I have seen too many homeless ignored. It seems to me that the American homeless population is treated similarly to India's "untouchables."

Good job with the picture.

Wow, I really like this. It speaks to me- I once saw a Veitnam vet. sitting on the side of the road, reading a book, with a tin can that said " Homeless Vietnam War Vet" so its a really personal thing.
