I was thrilled when asked to do a portrait of President Joe Biden for Vanity Fair! With this piece I returned to my roots by starting the painting traditionally in acrylic and finished it in photoshop rather than painting it completely digitally. I wanted to depict the president as grounded, confident and focused, while keeping the painting itself relatively loose, textured and warm.
