Description Here we have two sticks, an oak branch that laid on the ground too long and a birch, fresh cut and dried. The smaller is 21" tall, the larger 27". They are not made as a set but they like to dance together.  Every tree is a bevy of dancing girls who all do the Can Can.

The branch is selected and left long, then clamped in a vice. A sharp chainsaw and grinder with wood cutting head rough it down. Then they are shaped and detailed with a knife and gouge, Rasped and sanded to be smooth to the touch. Last thing is to cut it so it stands on it's own. When displaying them I'll often make a broader base with a pin. The Oak piece is soaked in linseed oil, the birch left sanded.
