I think that RainFlower is not THAT mean, but that it is sad that she can't get over that CrookedJaw broke his jaw. I think it's terrible that she just threw him out, and obviously favors, adores and treats OakHeart better.

Th reason that RainFlower renamed StormKit CrookedKit, is sadder than you think.
Its not because she didn't love him
Its because she thought that he was going to die, and she didn't want STORMKIT to die. So she renamed him CrookedKit, so that if he died, it would be CrookedKit dying not StormKit.
