Despite her horribleness, there's one thing Sophie admires about her mom, that being her ambition.

while alive, Marcelle did what she could to climb the social ladder among French nobility.

even after marrying her husband Joseph, and having two kids(Jacques and Sophie) she still did all she could to become even richer.

Even in hell centuries later, she still climbs up the top, and is even a secretary to a very influencial demon aristocrat, and has been living in luxury ever since.

But she's still a terrible person.
