More sphinxes, I do draw them a lot don't I...They had fascinated me since I was young because there is so little about them in myths and legends which leaves a lot to one's imagination. They seem to be one of the more mysterious mythical creatures out there...we mostly hear, draw, and write about dragons, elves and even mermaids but not so much about these fellows. This painting was inspired by the art of truepoetryneverdies, I highly suggest you check out her gallery. It is absolutely beautiful.
As for the title, I chose it because there seemed to be something romantic about the painting but I have recently felt disillusioned about romance. Even though it is something each one of us dreams about to some extent I see so many people falling apart. All around me friends and family are drifting away from each other so quickly and so suddenly. I find it strange how easily people can disappear.

It's right, there isn't much about sphinxes that is known but as you sad, that is where your imagination can go wild :>
Pretty cool to see something other than dragons and so on!
