Description
(I created a pony oc who is basically a rewritten Peparmint Splash, who left DeviantArt. I just wanted to do this for fun, which I did while writing the backstory. This is my first attempt at creating a pony oc too, I hope this is decent for the style. I’m open for critiques, thank you for reading!)

Name: Mystic Mint
Nicknames: Minty, Myst, and Mimi
Age: 3 (horse years), 18 (human years)
Gender: Female
Species: Unicorn
Height: 4’2”
Weight: 278 lbs
Eye Color: Aqua
Mane Color/Style/length: Medium length, poofy, seafoam hair often styled with bows.
Accessories: Has a green scrunchie, a locket with a picture of her father inside (some ponies believe the necklace is the reason Mystic can use freezing magic), and bows in her mane.
Personality: When one pony first meets Mystic Mint, any pony can see her generous and quirky nature. She’s somewhat of a pacifist, being unaggressive and caring for others. However, unlike being nice to others, Mystic is easily stressed and overworked because of how hardworking she is. She refuses to accept help, and believes she can do her tasks by herself. Mystic is very determined, and feels accomplished by doing work on her own. Outside of work, Mystic is very naive and impatient. She just can’t stand around without doing something to keep herself busy. Although she’s soft, she’s easily emotional, especially when she’s overworked. Mystic doesn’t know how to calm down or relax, but meeting new ponies settles her a bit. Any pony who sees her should talk to her, she’ll enjoy the effort of being talked to.
Likes: Chocolate cupcakes, singing, Valentine’s Day, romance movies, cooking, staying up late, angels, meeting new ponies, the color blue, and clouds.
Dislikes: Dragons (it’s a fear, what a racist), horror movies, orange flavored treats, waiting, large crowds, swimming, the doctor, writing, the dark (fear), and school.
Strengths: Hardworking, friendly towards others, has freezing magic (because of her special talent), and is educationally intelligent.
Weaknesses: Easily overworked/stressed, refuses to accept help, lack of magic practice, has a hard time saying no, and has a lacking sleep schedule.
Cutie mark: A dark teal swirled peppermint wrapped candy and a light blue bow.
Special Talent: Making mints and treats for her friends
Mystic thought her special talent at first would be singing, since she often would sing to herself at night when nobody was around. She thought she was good, but she never sang in front of someone. When she made a batch of mints in her father’s candy store, her cutie mark appeared. Mystic was very confused at first, but she loved it regardless.
Her special talent allows her to use freezing magic, as its associated with mints. With this power, Mystic has the ability to freeze ponies or food for about twenty seconds before the ice melts quickly. The power stays longer in effect if the environment is snowy/cold, and it fades quicker if it’s sunny/warm. Mystic can also freeze water to create ice rinks, and the ice won’t melt if the area is freezing cold. Due to a lack of practice with this magic, she doesn’t use her special powers often.
Despite her special talent in creating mints, Mystic still makes chocolate candy and other sweet treats. However she likes to make treats with minty flavor to them. Her special talent allows her to add minty flavor to anything edible (doesn’t use this power often due to lack of practice).

Sweet was always strict towards Mystic, and expects her daughter to work on her own and be the best she can be. Although at first Mystic didn’t mind the harshness, she managed to get used to the critical behavior and realized Sweet wanted Mystic to be successful.

Walnut was very heartwarming towards Mystic, and he even taught her how to make mints and chocolate. Mystic loves working with her father in their candy store. He often feels concerned for her overworking herself.
~ Siblings(?): Coco Magic (Young Sister, Pegasus), Cuddle Confetti (Young Sister, Earth Pony)
Mystic loves her two sisters, and they both love her. She enjoys making cupcakes for them. Coco enjoys delivering orders for Mystic, and Cuddle likes to support the candy store.

Mystic Mint was born in Canterlot along with her younger siblings, Coco Magic and Cuddle Confetti.

Her mother, Sweet Lotus, was a gardener, and always had high expectations for her daughters. This was especially harsh towards Mystic, as she was the eldest daughter. Often times Sweet would ask Mystic to do the dishes or any chore by herself. If Mystic was too slow or made any mistake, Sweet would discipline Mystic with either a slap to the face or even locking her in a closet for minutes. The discipline wasn't as bad as Mystic got older, but she grew a fear of the darkness.

Mystic soon got tired of her mom and decided to stay around her father more. Her father, Walnut Candy, owns a candy store. Everyday Mystic would wander into his candy shop and watch him prepare lots of fancy treats to sell. It amazed her how he can create all the sweets, and it made her want to make her own. Mystic would enter her father's store so much, that even her sisters would join her in watching treats being made. Mystic would try to distract them by running outside and playing tag or hide and seek to chase them off. Often times, it didn't work, because they knew Mystic well.

When Mystic turned 10 (human years), she entered her father’s store early before opening and hesitantly asked if she could try to make one of the treats. Walnut nodded and guided Mystic behind the counter. He showed her the appliances throughout the store, and what to do with them. Mystic was amazed and felt like she was in a private tour of a museum she enjoyed. Walnut then asked Mystic what she would like to make. Mystic thought about it, and decided to make her favorite sweet treat, chocolate cupcakes.

Walnut grabbed a couple bowls and utensils and asked Mystic to grab the ingredients. Walnut then told Mystic the instructions as she progressed through making a batch of cupcakes. It felt like a sweet father and daughter relationship as they were cooking together. Coco Magic and Cuddle Confetti snuck into the shop and watched Mystic create the cupcakes. Soon the cupcakes were put in the oven, and Mystic felt relieved at her hard work, but she didn’t get enough satisfaction from her current work. She cleaned the trays and bowls, and dried them while the cupcakes were still cooking. They took their sweet time until Mystic was impatient enough to ask her father if she could make something else.

Walnut shrugged but said yes. Mystic wanted to create a batch of mints next, and grabbed everything she needed by herself. Walnut realized Mystic seemed to be overworking, especially for a young age, and asked her to take a break. Mystic talked back slightly loud and refused, saying she could do it, and continued with her progress. Walnut wasn’t too happy with Mystic’s behavior and left the store to get his wife. The second he left, Mystic finished the cupcakes and set them out to cool off on a cooling rack. After a while, the mints were finished. Mystic wanted to let her father try the treats she made, even if she felt bad for yelling at him.

Once Sweet entered with Walnut, Coco and Cuddle jumped out of their hiding place and wanted to try the cupcakes. Before they were given a chance to try the cupcakes, Sweet glared intensely at Mystic. She hesitantly tried to run before receiving a tangent from her mom. Coco and Cuddle felt bad for Mystic, and noticed their father look curiously at the mints. Walnut eagerly took one and ate it, later showing an expression of delight. He turned towards Sweet Lotus and told her to try the mints. Mystic was confused as her mother was given a mint by Walnut. She ate it and expressed similar to Walnut, giving Mystic forgiveness and joy. Suddenly Mystic’s flank started to glow, everyone in the shop squinted and looked back as the glow shone brighter. The brightness faded as Mystic looked at her flank and gasped as her cutie mark appeared before her. It was a minty candy with swirls and had a pretty bow on, it represented her generosity in giving her friends and family her created treats. Mystic’s first reaction was confusion, as her father ate the mint without her knowing. She didn’t eagerly give them anything, but realized it was her special talent. Mystic offered the mints to her siblings and they happily nodded their heads as Mystic gave them two mints.

That afternoon, Mystic was grounded for an hour because of her frustrated behavior. Despite being grounded, the cupcakes were also delicious according to the siblings, but they liked Mystic’s mints more. As days moved on, Walnut eventually taught Mystic how to cook every treat within his candy store, and Mystic had a blast learning new techniques.

One night, Mystic was in her room, reading a cookbook before going to bed. Suddenly she felt her horn have a sudden chill, it had an odd numbness to it. She didn’t know if she felt ill or not. Instead she tried casting a levitation spell on the book to put it away, but felt her horn lose its coldness as the book froze in solid ice and dropped onto the floor. Mystic gasped and confusedly touched the book, concluding that she froze the book. Her parents, hearing the loud thump, asked Mystic what was wrong. She quickly ensured her parents that she dropped a book on accident, and apologized. Unsure of what to do with freezing magic, she wanted to see what else she could do. However she became very tired after freezing more things, such as her shampoo bottle and toothbrush. Mystic concluded that the freezing magic immediately melts after twenty seconds. She knew she could do more, but decided to rest for the night.

As Mystic got older, she would make more and more treats for her family. She met several new ponies that had interesting stories to tell. Mystic enjoyed working in the shop with her father for years. Coco Magic would even be nice enough to deliver treats beyond Canterlot, since she is a pegasus.

Eventually, Sweet Lotus and Walnut Candy wanted to expand the family business, and agreed to moving to Oatario. They knew Mystic was old enough to take care of herself and the shop, although Walnut seemed concerned for Mystic more. Sweet Lotus wanted to move as soon as they could, and confronted the situation to Mystic. It made her confused and sad at first, but Mystic accepted it.

Mystic now lives her life in loneliness in a candy store, working herself to the fullest, getting better everyday. She also tried making new treats for her family business, which most results were incredible. Any pony who enters Canterlot hears rumors about the Walnut Candy Store, that only one pony manages to create some of the best sweets around. If anyone hears about it, they have to go there at least once.
