Bippa, the official Sugimori art on the upper left, and the sprite used in the background belong to Nintendo, Ken Sugimori, and/or gamefreak.

bippa is it's japanese name. this image was made in 2006, before the western release of diamond and pearl, so that's the only name it was known by at the time.

actually, they've changed the names for mostly every pokemon there is. exceptions being mostly legendaries.
names are once more re-translated in french and german as far as i know, and most likely other languages.
i know this 'cause here in switzerland we only get the german/french versions... i had to import the game to play in english...

localization makes sense, it's just my mother tongue is spanish and my language of choice is usually english, so i'm happy importing. turns out it's usually cheaper anyway

yeah there's something about beavers and me... casti comes from beaver in spanish = castor... even if it was totally random o.0; well, casti remains ^^ and finally! a beaver! and a cute one! <3
