Description
Done in Open CanvasInspired by the music track with the same name as the piece from the game "Ace Combat 5 - The Unsung War". If you're interested in the track, you can catch me on MSN and I'll send it to you.
I had the concept of this piece in my mind quite a while ago.... didn't finish drawing it until now though...
Anyway, feel free to throw dangerous objects at me as it's FMA fanart again.... Man I always thought Roy is really hot with his hair all slicked back... actually, he's hot all the time.... *dies*. Background was a major pain in the butt to draw (that just tells you how bad I am at drawing background....) The colour choosing process was a pain in the butt too.....
So the conclusion is - I'm hopeless at colouring *explodes*

FMA was the very first anime to ever cause me to cry, and it was during that episode too... *sniffles* Dang, I knew it was coming, but I still couldn't help it (It was so saddening to hear his Hughes' daughter at the end of the episode ;_; )
Onto the pic though! Actually, I think the background looks great! The shading and texture go nice and well together. ^.^ And of course, I definately love Roy as well, hee hee.

I have to agree with one of your first commenters, it was so sad when they were burying Hughes and his daughter kept asking why ;__; i cried (yet I didnt see how he died I didnt wanna spoil it >D ). Anyways, beautiful job...I felt so sorry for Roy, it had to be his most emotional parts ever ;___; (sorry if this posts twice xD) anyways great colouring! But anyway, this is really nice... and the positioning of Roy's hat brim also hides something that might be possibly spoilerish for those who haven't seen the end...
Also, someone previous noted the atmosphere in this goes really well with the tone of the piece, which I agree.

The coloring looks okay in the depth area. But everthing looks a little too dark. If you gave it some highlights like in the flowers and even add some even darker tone to the bottom left (or your right) corner to the tombstone. The grass and the stone layed on the ground might also need some slight highlights to make them stand out.
I haven't had the best expierence with coloring and lighting either but I am learning from one of the best artists I know. So you might want to try what I suggest and see if you like the change, if not, then just ignore me and pretend I didn't say anything.

I think the coloring is really good! the orange background contrasts well with the blue of his uniform and I really like the shadow that hangs over the grave and Roy. Nice.
