Though their happiness was cut short since after a couple of months, bandits raided the farm and killed both Rose and Alabaster. Luckily Lilac was hidden away somewhere safe. Rose's father, Sherman Quinn came to visit his daughter and his new granddaughter. Though waking into the home, it was a complete blood bath and the place was wrecked. Sherman heard faint cries of a small baby up the stairs. Following the faint cries, he found a something moving under a soft blanket, lifting it to see Lilac crying for her mother. Of course Sherman quickly took the baby and rushed out of the farmland and head home. Taking the responsibility of raising Lilac, he was very fortunate to have his nobility and wealth to have such a big home for her.

As the years passed, Lilac grew older and was home schooled by her grandfather since before his retirement was a teacher for the nobility. Sherman was afraid to tell Lilac what happened to her parents so every time she would ask, he would either change the subject or say he didn't know what happened and found her on his door step. Lilac and her grandfather were very close and every time Sherman would go to bed, Lilac would sing him a soft lullaby. She was a very sweet and helpful girl growing up and would always help the maids do chores and would run around picking flowers for them. When she was around 12 years old, her grandfather grew ill and soon helpless. Lilac would take care of him and make him food and watch over the doctors that came in to heal him. For 8 years, she relied on stealing and pick locking to get food or supplies to help her stay alive. She grew more clever over the years and became very street smart and learned a few things about the street life. Being on the streets she learned to use her body as a sort of tool to help her gain gold, though she wouldn't use it in a sexual manor just to flirt and possibly pick pocket someone for coin. Though during the 8 years, she gained a lot of people's trust by her doing deeds for them and helping them around. When she was 20, she had enough money to buy somewhere to live and luckily there was an empty two story home in the market.
