Description Started studying from Andrew Loomis' Figure Drawing For All It's Worth. I'm trying to get more muscles and such in and working in perspective. Not everything is working here but I feel like I'm making some progress.

Drawn with 03 and 05 fine line markers.

I really love the movement you've got here and the weight you've achieved with the simple lines really like the torso and jumping poses.

A good exercise they got me doing once in life drawing when we were learning how to draw muscles was to first draw detailed images of people without skin (let's say an hour sketch), then they halved the time again and again until we only had 10 seconds to draw as much as we could to see what our brains would pick up on.

This technique really helps you to focus on the important sections of the body to really gesture what you need without too much detail.

Perhaps you've done this already, but thought I'd throw it in there just in case!

You know, I've never done that exercise before, though I have put together muscle sheets and such together. I'll keep that in mind for a future daily challenge.

I need to develop that understanding of muscles read and how so I can get out of 2 minute sketches and get 30 second gestures that read correctly. Well, I'm off to study more muscles, digitally this time!

I think they are all nice, just the second one, from bottom to up, the leg behind the other is too long. What can really help with gestures are animations, those people are very good at that.

Yeah, I see the one you're talking about. I have a ways to go before anatomy like this just flows naturally, but that's what these studies are for.

You're right about animation, I think I'll get out that animator's survival kit book and see if there's some helpful stuff in there. It's been a long time since I've even thought about animation. Squash and stretch!
