This was an extremely tight competition! The winners all placed within fractions of points next to each other. The judges and I let the numbers decide the winners, because objectively, we simply couldn't choose. There are too many incredible artworks! I would have liked to award ties, but without the support of my co-chair, the budget was unfortunately too constrained. Meet Our OCs: Shiori and Dominique

Shiori Hattori

Having lived under her brother's oppressive watch for so long, Shiori is a cautious individual who weighs her words and actions carefully. Initially she is concerned predominately with her own self-preservation in Amegakure and secures authority wherever she can. However, the people of Amegakure quickly win her heart and compassion. She becomes a kind and hospitable first lady. From Amegakure, Shiori is able to see a side of Konohagakure that she doesn't like, and sides against them in the Amegakure/Konoha conflict. Completely sold on Hanzo's dogma, she wants nothing less than to see him rule the shinobi world and works tirelessly to assist him.

Dominique Maggio

Dominique is a shy and sweet girl, she enjoys helping others and testing her strength. Once she gets to know someone she loves to hang out and perhaps go on an adventure. Overall she is a sweet and generous person and would go out of her way to give others a helping hand. Dominique has a bloodline trait that allows her to channel power from the moon and stars. On nights when there's a full moon, she has twice her normal strength. On nights when there is a new moon, she is extremely weak and frail, even showing signs of a flu or cold.

Can I draw Dom and Shiori together?
We'd prefer participants not to (because in the timeline of Naruto, Shiori is about 30 years older than Dom), but if you have a creative idea in mind, go for it! They will be accepted!

When is the deadline?
Shiori Entries: August 23, 2015
Dominique Entries: September 7, 2015

What happens if there aren't many entries? Will you cancel the contest?
We hope this won't be the case! We've already received several wonderful entries, so we have no plans of canceling the contest. Worse-case scenario, we'd extend the deadline.

Can I dress the characters up in new clothes or change their hairstyle?
Sure! Just make sure that the characters are still recognizable. We can't wait to see your creativity!

Will the winning images be used for anything?
Nope; the winners will just receive their prizes and have their images featured in the contest winner's journal for all of DA to see!

Can the winner's prize money be converted to points?
Yes! 100 Pts costs a little more than $1 USD, so the prizes would be 8,000 pts for first place ($100), 4,000 pts for second place, etc.

If someone submits multiple entries, could they win multiple places? Like both first and second?
Yes. Technically, this is possible!

Is pixel art allowed?
Yes!

What is considered "tasteful" NSFW?
Basically, we are fine with anything that doesn't violate DA's prohibition on "pornographic imagery."

Once the contest closes, are entries chosen by participant poll or privately by the judges?
After the contest ends, entries will be voted on by the judges in private based upon the following DA critique categories: Vision, Originality, Technique, and Impact.
