Description I was out taking pics of "Garden Prowler" (in my bucket of dirt - yes I have a bucket of dirt WHAT OF IT) and I heard an ominous Brrmmmblbrrrrrmmmmm in my right ear. I only had a second to snap this pic before he zoomed off again.

My mom likes to tell me a story of how, when I was a little kid and not even yet able to talk, I was sitting on the grass while she tended her garden and she turned around to look at me and I was sitting there petting a bumblebee on my arm. AWWWWW

Critters have always liked me!

Amaaaazing shot... you are a macro master

Just don't go around saying "I'm a macro master" out loud... there's bound to be someone who'll distill something else from that statement

...

that is a beautiful shot! Cool that you were able to get it before the bumble buzzed away.

A bucket of dirt? What not a jar?

And yay for you, girl. If it had been me, I would have heard the bee and been gone Gone GONE.

It's probably because I'm a squishy scary thing.

Now that song will be in my head all day.

I am stunned you got it focused! Wow. Auto-focus never seems to work right for me on macro, so I fumble around with manual. But that takes for-freaking-ever. So I take shots of stationary bugs or of ones that fly a pattern and return to the same spot (some dragonflies do this). This is amazing. The side view is fantastic. Wow.

x3 We have a little bumble-bee that lives in our deck. (Apparently bumble-bees live in wood. o_O)

And there's this one little sentry, or what I believe to be a sentry who buzzes around the part of the deck they live in so no intruders get it.

And my grandfather sits outside near it, and sticks his hand out and calls it over, going "beebeebeebeebee" And it comes near his finger.

xD So, the bee has the name "Beebee" now. Not very original, but it's cute. x3

AHH! Creepy!

Actually, humblebees are incredibly docile things, the only time they will ever sting is if they are endangered, or their queen is endangered, so these guys I don't mind. Wasps, Yellow Jackets, and any other of these speciesfog flying ant-faces scare me to near death, I kid you not. Humblebees however are fuzzy and cute, and they make the cool "*BZZ*" noise.

Gladly... though I'm sorry if it seemed odd. XD

Anywho, this pic could only have been better if the wings were still. (And I dunno what kind of shutter-speed you'd need to do that shiznit.)

Fantastic shot.

Thanks! I wish it were better, I was sitting on a bed of river rock, turned about 180 torso-wise in order to snap it so it probably could have been a bit better but the little bugger left before I could do anything more!
