Hi,

I'm writing this critique because you submitted this piece into #UniqueDeviants ' critique folder.

First of all let me say that I like the colors on this picture. The different purple tones are really cool and calming when you look on them.

Unfortunately, I think there's a bit too much light in the back. You know, light is always important for photography, but you need to set the lights differently. This makes the outcome look more intresting.

What I find really distracting is the ordinary background. When I look at the picture, I'm feeling disturbed by this blurry fir cone (?). I don't think it matches with the stone well. Furthermore I think that there are too many highlights in the background which make me rather looking on this than on the stone.

If I were you I would've tried to capture some of the purple parts on the stone in a dark area with just some light rays on it or something like that.

Gr amethystos(Αμεθυστος) =not drunken (the Greeks believed that the amethyst prevented intoxication)... anyway i feel like ''drunken'' when i'm looking at something purple..
a purple magic mountain..
