Devil's being an asshole again!!!! He can finally be ridden....but barely!!

Devil was silent through his walking warmup. He did everything that was asked, which was unusual. Ava looked down at him, perplexed. Maybe he had finally had a change of heart? She had no way of knowing he was silently stewing, waiting for the right time to show her he was the same old horse he always had been. She pressed him into a trot, something he had actually been doing well at. He didn't seem to mind those orders as much as others. After a few successful, uneventful laps around the ring, Ava gave him a well deserved break.
"Devil, we might have to change your name. You've been spectacular today," she praised.

Devil swung his tail around; he was getting fed up.
Ava was feeling confident with his progress. She asked him to trot again. After a few steps she asked him to extend a little, and he decided he had had enough.
Devil dipped his shoulder and bolted, throwing a few bucks in for good measure. He was having none of it.
As Ava struggled to get him back to her, all her optimism at the start of the ride quickly went out of her.
