In my childhood I spent so many hours playing my gameboy color! Did you?21st April 1989 - Nintendo releases the first Gameboy ever, in Japan. So in two weeks Gameboy will have its 22nd bday!

One GBC memory I'm not so fond of is the GBA-to-GBC glitch that instantly DEL TACOs all save data on the cart. IIRC my bro lost a Mew on Blue that way.

Your bro had Mew? Wow, cograts. I've never managed to gain any. But the thing that I remember in those first pokemon games like blue, or red is that they used to break quite often and I was losing my saved data all the time.

I think he got it from a friend, though, so I have no clue whether it was legit or not.
I think my sister has the Blue cart nowadays, but it no longer saves. No "The file data was destroyed!" thing at boot-up; it just doesn't save.
As for destroyed data, I've had the same problem in second-gen carts. I lost a level 100 Feraligatr on Gold because the file corrupted itself. This is actually why I picked Totodile as my HeartGold starter instead of Chikorita; I wanted my level 100 Feraligatr back. Took me nearly a year to get him back to level 100.
AFAIK my bro's stuff on Silver is still intact, but I haven't checked.

I don't remember if my Gold had this problem either. But in the same way you lost your Feraligatr I lost my Dewgong named Sailor (in Blue), my first lvl100 ever. It was special, beacuse I had it from in-game-trade. But now I've got quite many lvl-100-Pokemons, especially in Ruby.

Yeah I don't use it anymore, but I would never sell it or give it away, even if it stopped working <3 Now I just play my original DS, but I really want the 3DS!

Yeah, I want to wait until the price goes down, or maybe they'll come out with a new version again in like a year (like with the DS lite), so it'll be cheaper and better
