Backstory on this image:

When I was in highschool in Las Vegas, (2001) I was in a studio art class during which I developed my skills by drawing many still lifes and realistic black and white images. Several of these are in my gallery, including a baby shoe and a baseball mit. During that class we were asked to create an image as part of a contest to eventually be used on a poster encouraging organ donation. Being a little shit, I decided to make this image, which was not even sent in for the contest because it is not in the least bit encouraging. I did look at references when planning this image, but for the most part I went with my gut as to how a quintessential human heart looks, effectively combining every human heart I had ever seen into one stark image. After I finished the drawing, I scanned it into photoshop and added color. Upon creating my DA account, I uploaded the majority of my art, including this image. Since then its popularity has exploded in a way that I could not have fathomed. I noticed today that it is the NUMBER ONE image for human heart on google. WOW! Unfortunately the original was sold a few years ago for a mere 10 dollars to a friend named Duran who went to college with me at TESC. A few years ago, someone effectively stole this image (claiming to DA that it was theirs) and it was removed. Oh boy! My most popular image is loose on the internet! Since then I attempted to retrieve the image in order to re-scan it at a high resolution, but when asked for it, Duran informed me that he had given it to a friend who helped him move, and that he doesn't know his name or whereabouts.

Sad. Awful.

I have come to accept that I may never see that image again, and that my ability to prove that this image is in fact mine is not possible. When it was originally removed I took a picture of myself holding it, [link]
