The bona-fide first page of Urgent Tranformation Crisis. There's a script to this, but it makes perfect sense without one. Makes me think I should try one of those silent comics to see if I can pull off a coherent story without those huge conversations I like to throw in the script.I want a different look for this series, so I'm attempting a straight black & white scheme rather than a whole lot of gradients and halftoning. I won't post any more pages until the issue is finished, but I decided to share this one with everyone to A) confirm that the issue is officially in production, and B) see how this new style is working out.

Can I say that you have really REALLY kicked it up a notch. Thing is, is every series you have done since I've know you make comics has been so far apart from the previous, that we always get to see a different side of your art. I mean Reflection could never look like this...and although Evil Jim got dark, we could never see anything like this in EJ. There are different kinds of light in comics as well as different kinds of dark.
What I mean is a Batman comic kind of dark will be different from a Nightwing kind of dark. They can be similar, the same, and totally different...it all depends on what happens when you turn the page lol.
But this is definitely different for you. No matter how dark and pulpy I've gotten..I still have a light side..maybe because I'm all for the old super hero genre..or maybe because I try to make them look dark and badass but also..pretty...or maybe cause I would have to ink the whole page and it looks fine the way it is..lol...but this...this is something I'm gonna watch very closely from you.

the sad thing is that i started reading this right to left... then realized what i was doing lolol

One day last summer I was reading an issue of Batman and on one page just automatically started reading right to left. For a whole page. I was so confused until I realized what happened.
