I really like this photograph. I love the nature aspect at the doorway, the stairs(use of line) to lead you to the subject, love the directional lighting. Overall great job!

Yeah. I really do love this one. Although the ISO is a mess, it's got s good bit of blur.. But I'm learning, and I like the fact I could actually capture the feeling that I wanted to in this one.

Yep, a bunch of her actually. They're scattered around my gallery.

Yeah I noticed not to long after that shes all over the place.

You did a nice job with the color and light. Me personally I would have added a little more contrast and played with the saturation a wee bit, but that's just me.

Model photography is something I'm fairly new at, so when I capture a good image I feel that same way as you.

This is very lovely, I especially like the "do not enter" graffiti on the door.

What a great location to shoot!! You're very lucky. Your model looks like she would be fun to work with as well. :]

but. Yeah, haha there's always a but. Your camera information says this was shot with a nikond40, that's a nice camera. an slr right?

It looks like you shot this with a point and shoot. That is not a good thing. Are you using auto focus on it and auto controls? Or are you metering your light your self and using the focalring?

The photograph just looks very low quality, not what a d40 should be producing.

Yep, I'm using a SLR. And I admit I have been using auto focus a lot.. Mainly because I'm.. honestly not so sure how to use the manual correctly. x.x;

jessichu In reply to CatsEyePhotography [2007-10-29 03:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's a lot easier, but it's like if you're only going to use auto you might as well just have a point and shoot you know?

CatsEyePhotography In reply to jessichu [2007-10-29 15:43:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I know what you mean, I'll practice more with the manual. I suppose because this room was so dark, and it was my first time using the tripod, I didn't consider messing around with the manual focus.

-Hugs!-

One of the reasons I did pick this for my Uhm, "Show" piece, was because of the extreems in tones.. Like, you said, the almost pure black shadows, and then the bright white of her skirt, window, and even light skin tone.
