Thank you! And I am. Working on saving up to live in a new city. I had published work (even though I wasn't credited because I was hired as a freelancer through the colorist) but still, it was published so I'm feeling very good. Working on my own comic to self publish online currently. In the VERY early stages of it. How are you>

Nice to see your old fan character again. (:
I like the emotion with the characters. It also foreshadows Robin's eventual departure in a way (unconsciously), the kid wanting to be his own hero. I imagine Robin talking with Alfred about this once he leaves Nightingale alone.
I imagine with Nightingale's reluctancy to break the rules must be difficult for her since she does like Robin, but doesn't want to disappoint Batman (who wouldn't?). I read it as her being, as you said, wishing to be liked and respected (not just by Batman, but people around her too). Especially since, according to your old comic, she technically was a villain at one point, so it makes it more believable she may desperately want to be seen as a good person, to put the past behind her. Even if it means being a killjoy and such.
I also could see it as a jealousy route. Nightingale might be jealous of Robin for how long he's been under Batman's wing. Despite the two sidekicks having somewhat similar pasts--orphans, adopted into the Bat Family, etc.--she still has the feeling of jealousy. Maybe she expresses it honestly to Robin/Batman/Alfred, but she is a considerate enough person to not let the emotion she has interfere with the relationship she has with Robin.
I don't know if you read Harry Potter (I admittedly only read the first book long ago), but Ron's relationship with Harry is a very good example of what I mentioned above (jealousy relating to friendship).
Don't mind the long comment, I love analyzing characters.

You're welcome.
And something I also forgot to mention is that I love the blue lighting. It's so pretty.
