I don't know my Digimon but I do know this is mighty cute! I think I recognize its head.. Don't they have a previous form/evolution thingie that's just the noggin?

Yes they do have lower levels that sometimes are just a head, like Koromon [link] which I'm kinda guessing is the one your thinking about, but not all In-training Digimon (In-training is what their call here in the US) are just heads, some actually do have bodies, like Bukamon [link] (which is Gomamon's In-training level) and DemiVeemon [link] Then there are the ones like Tokomon [link] and Gigimon [link] who look like elongated heads with little legs attached to them,
And I'll leave it at that, I don't want to drive you nuts or confuse you with my Digimon know it all-ness which I know I can do sometimes.

Oh wow, I see! I appreciate the visual aids too haha! Those are neat, it kind of reminds me of what PokΓ©mon did in the later generations with the pre-evolotion thingies like Pichu and Cleffa. Be proud of your Digimon knowledge! You earned it!
