In the most fight sports with kicking the fighter are barefoot, so the risk is not high, otherwise the fighters would wear some shoewear.  

Often the fighter wear a special foot clothing where the middle of the foot is clothed with some solid material to stabilize the joint but the toes and the heel are nude.

I like to kick people with heavy boots, so  I guess that's why I have footwear on people.
