I love those bokeh lights in the background. The way that the shading is all in one direction gives it a sense of movement, or maybe like the camera has been shaken.

The picture is very nice, and you did a good job at drawing it.
The reason you think it looks flat, is probably because it's very grey. The easiest way to create a 3D effect, is to use the whole value scale, from white to black. You might have darkened the background, and the shading a bit.
