Description Embroidery sweater which is shiny but time consuming and looks a bit like he got run over? (Left half)
Or
Braided sweater which matches the sweater and is quick but is bulky and has to be glue one? (Right half)

Lets just ignore his one shorter sleeve, the odd cut to the base of sweater and also I think sewed his hair on backwards. Also not stuffed yet. >_>
Yeah, this is Fail!Watson. Say hello to the nice people Fail!Watson.

Fail!Watson: Sherlock gets a fancy coat and I get this....

Lay your opinions on me, dear readers.

*My camera data says this was made in the future. Neat*

Final results: 8 for left, 4 for right.
Thanks for your input.

I'm going to go with the right for now, mostly due to time reasons. It's quicker and it's easier to fix if I screw up. For example his sleeve is shorter on one side and the bottom of the sweater got ripped a bit when the thread got tangle while I was doing the tire tracks up. Fixing all the means redoing something that was already quite time-consuming......

I think their might be a third option if I can get a needle big enough to thread yarn, I can do the embroidery in a thinker, quicker, fluffier way.

Do they even make needle like that? Hmmmm...

I prefer the right one personally...
But if you went for your third option, you can get darning needles, (which is what I use to sew in my yarn ends when knitting) but just make sure you get one sharp enough!
Very cute!

Darning needles, that's what those are. I figured there must be a needle big enough for yarn. I just just used this hook things to get the ends in on my scarf.
Hmmm maybe they can be sharpened? I'll find out.

Yup! Actually the ones I have are quite sharp, which would be good for what you want it for, but for me is a pain because it tends to split the yarn when I weave in ends... And I keep stabbing myself with them Just have no idea where I got them now XD

Hello, dear Fail!Watson!

I have to admit, I like the idea of the braid side more, but the embroidery is a far more practical option (would probably hold together the best). Have you considered finding a suitable yarn that could approximate the braid instead?

That's something I'm looking into now after another person told me about darning needles big enough to handle yarn. That's the next thing I'll try.

Left for sure. Especially if it's going to be stuffed. And even Fail!Watson is adorable. I want a Watson.

I think the embroidered one looks a little more proportional than the braid, but would make him less cuddly. And you, they do look like tire tracks. Maybe if you used a slightly thinner braid, you'd have the best of both worlds; comfort/style and quick production time.

I think a thinner braid would work. I was a bit concerned the felt would come apart with the strands being so thin, but since I have to glue them on anyway the glue should stabilize the braid.
Definitely want something that's not too time consuming, the whole plushie is time consuming enough.

I like the left, but mostly because the right would be really bulky with both sides done and stuffed.
Would you trim the bottom of the braid?
(Plus I like the embroidered collar so... it matches!)
