Nice concept, a bit too blurry for my tastes (I understand you were going for motion, but try it without it). Also cool deal with the teeth in the BG!
As far as the use of a filter, I think if used sparingly there is nothing wrong with that. Thats what they are there for. But that is just me.
Good job over all... keep up the good work.

Maybe make some of the swirl go behind an object to give it more depth. The colors fit nicely tho.
