The shrunken portion of the population breed like rabbits, which is part of the reason why the majority of normal people have stopped caring much about them since there’s just so many. If you stopped a random girl and asked to see the bottom of her shoe it would look much like Brenda’s does. She’s only been out for 10 minutes and the bottoms of her converse are already a graveyard. All her other shoes sandals boots and what have you back at home also have varying amounts of faded red stains under them, it’s just the way the world is so she like most simply don’t think about it
