Description A drawing we had to do for Drawing III (which is offically over as of today-- I got an A for the semester), featuring these semi-stick figures that hopefully showed us how to structure a person better. I learned a lot from these guys, and if you're into drawing and are hoping to get better, this is a worthwhile activity. As you can see, there are some marks Mr. Counts made on my paper, though his comments are partly cut off and unreadable by now. Also, I apologize for the slight splicing error; it was too big for the scanner and I don't have a nice program to do this in or anything.

Hey you wouldn't by a chance have gone to Irvin High School have you?
I got these from my teacher myself. Are these from some site?

I think they may be from a book-- my best bet would be one of Hogarth's books, which my teacher used as a reference for us frequently. I'm not sure though.

And no, I did not go to Irvin High

Thanks, he's a fun one... and don't worry about not stopping by. I know I have so many other things going on I barely have time to do a lot of the stuff I'd like to anymore.

damn... you need to keep stuff like that! I still have my ugly little things around somewhere... it's always fun to look back on that kind of stuff.

eerie, but very cool. to bad theyre not as easy to draw as stick figures, but these are by far better. its interesting that you gave muscular detail to the torso, but not form the waist down and in the limbs. these are some great poses and they are done very well.

I just copied the sheet... but I did like the style a lot. Torsos are commonly what I'm better at anyway, and I love the definition on them so these were pretty fun for me to draw. But thank you, I appreciate it.

Really nice. My favorite one is the second from the right. He's like, "Whyyyyyyyyyyy?" Or, even better, "Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahn!!" Very nice job ^_^

pencil-swinger In reply to ccRask [2006-01-13 14:34:05 +0000 UTC]

I don't know exactly but it's something with figure drawing... The figures you drew look very similiar to the studies he does... First I thought it were the same poses but I'm not sure there...

ccRask In reply to pencil-swinger [2006-01-14 21:04:07 +0000 UTC]

pretty sure my drawing teacher drew them himself and photocopied them and handed them to us. I've never heard of that artist, to be honest, but it's a possibility that my teacher drew something from his work.
