Thanks man! I saw the pic of the B&W and thought to myself man I got to color this in. Then the more I looked at it I got to thinking about how delicate looking some of the Asian art work is that you see on display and I thought that insted of markers i would go with colored pencils for this one. It turned out beter that I could have planed for, especialy after I got it scanned back in. The light from the scanner and the auto de-screeing process sofened it even more adding the perfect finish to it!

Yeah it did, I colored as lightly as I could with the pencils from the start. I thought that it was looking as smoth as I could get it with the art supplies that I currently have to work with. Then after I scanned it and a few other things in I saw what the scanner had done on it with the auto de-screeing process I was almost giddy!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I had seen similar works coloerd in with pencil before that had that smoth look and wanted to try it for my self. I put some effort into the pre-work before I even started doing this one. I practed on blank pages untill I felt I had my motions down. I found that for me fether light stedy strokes gave me the best results for the "color" sections on darker sections I just shaded with a blac pencil, a #2 pencil, and an black ink pen for the various contrasts.

I think you should develop this approach for your future work. Looking at it again, I realize it gives a nice relief ! Very interesting !
