for the sketch of Cheetara, it was in a 9x12 Canson sketch book. the other big pic was done on a standard 11x17 comic art board. i usually shop at Utrecht.

What a team up that'd be. Ah Battle Planets. Just like Voltron and Robotech, one of the greatest animes that never really exsisted. But hey, lets hear it for the Frankinstein syndrome! ^_^

Ah yes. there's nothing like a good revamped, repackaged, reinvented-but-not-really-at-all show to get the ol' creative juices flowin', lol. i'll never understand some of the re-translated names of some of the old non-american cartoons. Gatchaman = Battle of the Planets. yeah... i guess that works, lol.

these are both good, but the Cheetarah is exceptional.

i appreciate ur comments, man. really. as for my tools, i'll usually rough out my drawings with a non-photo light blue pencil (which i got stuck on while going to school for animation) and then i'll flesh the drawing out with a 2h or h pencils, and darken it up with an F. or, if i'm lazy, i'll just flesh it out with an F pencil, period, lol. i'm real picky about the graphite i use. makes a world of difference, depending on the paper surface. as for paper, man... i'll pretty much draw on anything, lol. any surface that's suitable for pen, pencil, & charcoal is good enough for me. i usually go with bristol board or comic art boards for my really polished stuff, though. mostly on account of the size and smooth surface.

Hey, I got a question: If/When I have the money (ugh, job Bullshit has hampered my finances) and I commision something, if I also pay shipping costs would you be adverse to sending the original work to me so I could frame it?

CdubbArt In reply to NuclearConvoy [2010-08-12 03:57:38 +0000 UTC]
i don't want to advocate this too much, since i'm not really used to sending stuff, but i am going to send my current commissioner the original work. so... yes... i will send the originals, provided you pay the shipping costs. don't spread this around, lol.
