very nicely detailed, very clean lines, and a great concept..Think I'll try one with similar style...although I doubt I can match the detailΒ

That is really neat. It is like a G36c, spaz12/super 90, And a gun from District 9 all in one. Nicely done.

super duper cool. love district 9... just one thing. from a technical standpoint, the canister on the top of the stock would keep the shooter from being able to look down the sights.

Very District 9. I can easily imagine this rolling off the same production line as the assault rifle in the film, inter-operable parts even.

Looks pretty good, I do think it could use some brighter colors somewhere, most District 9 weapons had wight or other bright colors that contrasted with the dark really well.

It looks as though it would be awkward to hold. The distance between the pistol grip and the butt of the stock seems too compact.

Fantastic work as always. Do you use any special tricks to approach indenting cylinders that will be subdivided (looking at the bottom canister with the little nook in the side, assuming you're subdividing)? I'm sure you're aware of how that will often make the system 'forget' that it's supposed to be cylindrical (in English) and often result in a pinched, non-round surface. Is it just a matter of working at a high enough pre-smooth resolution that the quirks are too small to be visible?
Just thought I'd ask how you approach them since you certainly have the experience. I've been practicing on my high poly work a lot recently, and that's one of the pet peeves that keeps returning to haunt me: keeping my cylindrical shapes cylindrical while adding inset details. And thanks for submitting your stuff here. (:

the rear does not make it look Halo ish. it however does make it look District-9 inspired. with the container and the Handle/ fused stock.

The stock of the gun is very familiar to the one on the assault rifle in halo reach....as well as the handle.. really awesome though..

Awesome model and textures, but the concept (that it reminds me of district 9).. I don't know, it just lacks in something if I have to see it as a shotgun... maybe it's not so intuitive why some pieces are there for. For example the 2 little flasks... ?__?
