It's profound the way this piece goes from black & white sketch to loud potential comic book colours to crisp , sharp darkhorse comic style; excellent timeline crunch.

Nice. You really captured Dredd's frown. Β

Stunning page, and grand work on the colouring! Do you do your own flatting?

Sometimes, but I also use flatters when the budget allows. If I'm doing it, IΒ  use PBelt filter in Photoshop

Interesting... would that be thisΒ peltmade.com/psplugins-flattin… ? I'm used to always doing my own flatting but it's so time-consuming!

That's the one. It takes a it of getting used to, but with simpler styles it's a real time saver. I might record a tutorial on it if I can find some time...

I can imagine that even with complex styles it'd save a bunch of time too.... One more thing for the wish-list.

It can be counter-productive on reeeaally complex stuff. Take a look at some of the Lantern City pages I've just uploaded. Carlos Magno's artwork is uber-detailed. I ended up flatting that freehand using a magic wand technique which was faster than PBelt. Again - thinking of doing some YouTube vids in the future about different flatting techniques.

Definitely be interested in seeing you process on Youtube; fiddling about on one's own is all very well, but I'm sure people could learn a lot from seeing one of the best in the industry doing it.
