Sometimes, but I also use flatters when the budget allows. If I'm doing it, IΒ use PBelt filter in Photoshop

That's the one. It takes a it of getting used to, but with simpler styles it's a real time saver. I might record a tutorial on it if I can find some time...

It can be counter-productive on reeeaally complex stuff. Take a look at some of the Lantern City pages I've just uploaded. Carlos Magno's artwork is uber-detailed. I ended up flatting that freehand using a magic wand technique which was faster than PBelt. Again - thinking of doing some YouTube vids in the future about different flatting techniques.
