Description
Growing up, most of the time, I did everything at a slow pace.
When I took a test in school, I was usually last to turn it in. When I'd work on homework/study for tests that were difficult for me, I'd go late into the night between 11 PM to 2 AM just to get school work done. And technically even now, when I'd draw three of these affirmation pictures in a day/during my Twitch streams, I'd average 12 hours (don't worry, I made sure to take long breaks in-between/I'd make sure to eat/hydrate/wash the dishes even).
However, in spite of these cases, I've come to realize that "being slow" is just a societal construct. A lot of the time when I performed slow in school was due to me being meitculous and detail-oriented. I personally believe there's nothing wrong with wanting to be thorough in everything. What's more important to focus on is the feeling and intention behind completing a task, and to challenge the notion of "why being fast is more important" as well as "why society puts emphasis on speed so much".
All together, I identify with snails and their movement because I'm just like that, too~ And I'm content with going the pace I want to go--am able to go--in life.
