Description This was my second real go at dForce, and my first time using weightmapping (on her dress, so that the sash around her waist stayed in place while the ends moved). Really, this render was my attempt at extremely dark skin, inspired by this beautiful model, Nyakim Gatwech . Side note: it's really hard getting the subsurface scattering to look right with such dark tones, and I can't express how happy I am with this final result.

Obsidian is a Fire Immaculate, one of the teachers at the training facility at The Lap, and one of the most formidable. People often speak of the drow as being "as beautiful as volcanic glass, and just as dangerous," and the words are not without merit. She is a passionate fighter, though she has trained long and hard to channel her emotions into combat prowess. Recently, Obsidian approached the party for their assistance in rescuing some of her students who had been kidnapped, one of whom is her daughter Ruby. She would go herself, except that the last Immaculate who went to rescue them was forced to watch his son (one of the children who'd been taken) be bludgeoned to death, and she doesn't dare risk her daughter meeting the same fate. The party is not the first group of adventurers she has asked for help, but she hopes they will be the last.

Set up in DAZ|Studio (with dForce on the dress and hood) and rendered in LuxRender via Reality. Minor postwork in Photoshop (color correction).

After looking at the model you based this on (she’s gorgeous!) l have to say you really did do a very fine job capturing the overall tones.

Aw, thanks! This was the second go at it, as the first looked too much like plastic. I remember seeing the model and going "OMG I MUST RENDER THIS BEAUTY!" Well, my own version of course, but you get the idea.
