Do you know of any decent books of methods for learning how to ink straight lines. It seems like no matter how much and how long I practice, my lines always come out squiggly, wheter it's with my drawing tablet or with pen and paper.

I wonder why beginner artists refyuse to use references because they think it's cheating and destroy creativity, while pro-artist don'tr fear to use references.
I try to use them always. I don't want to lose skills. It was hard to reach the level where I am now, and I want improve and improve.

Using references adds to your idea library, and in the end, it is your hand that gives it your touch, regardless of how exact you "copy". It is exercise for the hand as well as the mind.
