Photoshop and Painter.... And my friends tell me to stay away from chocolate.Thanks, Andri, for the AVP artbook! I love it!!! I'm a big fan of Predators since their first movie, and I really really really love the novels (especially 'Aliens vs Predator : Prey'). I adore their culture, and would go so far as reading almost everything about them in Wikipedia. I have a thing for warriors and tribal culture, I suppose.
Unfortunately, I'm kind of disappointed with the AvP movie and their crossover comics - They didn't quite convey much of their nature, and in some ways got them wrong. Example (AvP movie): So a big hulking Yautja can swing xenomorphs side to side, crash trough walls, crack skulls, heave heavy objects... but can't tear a face hugger off its face? Oh, and they have infrared/x-ray masks, but can't see an embryo implanted in Scar's chest?? They wouldn't allow such abomination. And when it comes to the blooding ritual, the warriors don't mark themselves - their elders do, but only after the hunt is over. They would have the 'unblooded' stand over their last kill in a line, examine it, and then mark the warriors as 'blooded'.
Yikes... I'm starting to sound like a crazy fan.... *slaps self*
I admit that I have the anatomy wrong (especially the right hand), and the armor is not detailed enough. Was trying to be speedy
I really want Predator:Homeworld comic....

Nice CGA you've done! I've been a Preddy fan since the movie too and just as obsessive about them XD. Though when it comes to the AVP movie, you have good points but considering what I see in the media and comics now a days, they pretty much evolved into a race that can have different tribes with different rules. I mean think about it, you can find out about human native tribes from the Americas, Europe, Asia, anywhere you want to look but just because they are all human doesn't mean they are gonna have the same exact rules and culture. You just need to keep your mind a little open, no offense.
I wouldn't fret over the changes though, even with the slight changes in the Predators we read about and watch, it's still not enough to not call them badass in appearance and culture.

Good pic, Yeah, the AVP Movie was Grossly off about the traditions, but if every movie company made every movie perfect, then it would take three days to finish just one half of it

But if you noticed all the predators had their masks off at the time, in the movies commentary it explains that was the 'cheat' they thought of on how the little embryo in Scar didn't get noticed.. and the whole point of that was because the guy didn't want to make it look like he thought only the Predator (yautja) was the ultimate because he also had a love for alien (xenomorph)
So he was trying to be fair to alien and pred fans
But yes⦠elders and the blooding but hey..
Besides how many movies do you know that have actually followed the book or (some other media of entrainment) that they made their movies from to the key and in perfection hmm?
