Description Skool was just too much sometimes...Pepito had been absent the whole day, helping his father plan something major. This meant that Todd had been left to fend off the various attacks, both verbal and physical, that his classmates were so fond off. The thought of going home to his 'family' only heightened his nervousness and by the end of the day he felt like crawling under a rock and never coming out. The only plus side was that when he arrived home there was a message on the answering machine for him.

That night Todd went out to a cliff that overlooked the city to work on the idea for his short novel. The city's bright lights always seemed to inspire him, so the view would be absolutely positively perfect for his creative process. The best part... the area was completely devoid of all people, so he didn't have to deal with anyone laughing at him while he worked. Holding Shmee close to his chest with his left arm, Todd precautiously wrote in the notebook that he had balanced on his lap.

He occasionally nibbled on the end of his black pen, looked down at the city lights, and then continued to write. His mind was whirling at such a speed that his fingers could not keep up. It had been a while since he had felt such a compulsion to write like that, without checking his spelling or grammar or even the neatness of his words. This was bigger than himself.

"You came." Todd looked back, not in suprise but in reconization, and his carmel eyes met with a mismatched set of purple and red. "Squee, mi amigo por siempre, I did not honestly think that you would."

Todd Casil shrugged at his best friend's, his only friend's, words. It was ironic really, that such a nice little boy was only treated kindly by the son of Satan himself.

"I told you I would show, didn't I?" The comment caused Pepito to smirk. Their eyes met again and their lips met briefly in a kiss. Todd's fingers fumbled in the pocket of his jeans, coming out with a small key. "Here you go...you need this tonight, right? I'll get it back after it all though?"

"Of course you will get it back, Squee. It is so much like a friendship necklace, or perhaps more like a promise necklace, now." A bright blush stained Todd's cheeks at the implication of the AntiChrist's words. "In fact......perhaps you would like to put it in the lock?"

Pepito handed the key back, placing it in Todd's ink covered hands. At some point, the pen had exploded on the page. Todd nodded uncertainly, his fist clutching the key. His hand outstreched shakily, but effectively, and the key was sunken into the lock that it belonged to. A soft glow filled the air around it, and it began to float.

Minutes passed and the city, along with its bright lights and its people, began to topple to the ground by the light of dawn.

"The sound is so loud! Squee!" Todd bit nervously at his lip as the rumbling off falling buildings continued. Pepito's arms wrapped around him in a comforting manner. Still he continued to watch, until all that he could see was a few crooked buildings still leaning towards the sun's first light.

"Pepito-Can we stay up here for a little while? I wanna watch the moon set and stuff." Todd sat back down and turned his back on the city, instead facing the moon. The severity of what had just occured was starting to set in. His arms tightened around Shmee.

"Sure, amigo." Pepito remained standing, but Todd could feel those clawed hands on his shoulders, holding him in a comforting embrace.....

Todd Casil woke up in Pepito Diablo's bed. Shmee was tucked tightly between the two of them, and Todd could feel the key that Pepito had given him-still on the cord around his neck. Just another typical sleepover, with Pepito protecting him from the weight of the world and his parent's hatred.

The young AntiChrist let out a light yawn, revealing his sharply pointed teeth. His eyes blinked back the sunlight a few times, and then he smiled. "Good morning Amigo, did you sleep well?"

"Pepito...last night I dreamed that I watched the world died." Todd held Shmee close to his chest and snuggled closer into his friend's arms. Pepito could always make the scariness of things go away-which was kind of funny in a way.

"...Amigo...that wasn't a dream..." Pepito's voice was no more than a whisper against Todd's ear. The words caused shivers to break all over Todd's skin, and the tone that Pepito used was sly and seductive.

"I...good...because....Pepito-I-I-I really don't think I'm sorry..."

Second posted JV fanart, this time in an attempt to draw in a style similar to his. And I posted a short little fic along with it! ^_^ I should be updating Wine Red in a day or two-we had a poweroutage up here so I couldn't work on stuff.

This took about five hours (I have a tendency to take breaks, so it probably took less actual working time), going off of a sketch that I did during my Economics class.

As always, Pepito, Todd, and Shmee belong to Jhonen Vasquez.
