Description This is not my work!

This was done for me by the excellent

In a scene in the Forgotten Realms novel Siege of Darkness, Triel Baenre asks Jarlaxle to remove his shoes before stepping on her carpet. Like me, Triel insists on shoes off at the door.

I have referenced this scene quite a bit in my fan fiction, even doing a Drow parody of the Sex and the City episode, 'A Woman's Right To Shoes':

A Drow's Right to ShoesCarizza, Matron Mother of House Bra'zhezita arrived for Triel Baenre's party with a tightly wrapped present in her hands.

The Matron Mother of the ruling Drow house usually held her birthday parties in the grand hall of the Baenre palace. This time, Triel had opted to host her party in her private chambers for a more intimate gathering. As the matron mother of a minor house, Carizza felt very privileged to be invited.

Carizza was greeted by Liriel Baenre, Triel's niece and the daughter of Archmage Gromph. Reputedly, she was highly skilled in magic. Whatever the case, the Baenre girl was perhaps the most beautiful Drow that Carizza had set h

Triel Baenre was created by R.A. Salvatore.

I'm glad you like it.

Yeah that's usually the case, but it would still be awesome to have. Actually it kinda makes me cringe to think that people wear shoes inside on the floors and carpets

A lot of people keep them on in the UK. I have a doormat that says 'Please take off your shoes' so people get the message.

I see, I didn't know it was common to wear shoes inside in the UK, I always removed them when I lived there and visited people, but seriously, seeing how common wall-to-wall carpets are in Brittan, I'm quite surprised.

It has become a lot more common for people to take their shoes off. But British politeness makes it difficult for some people to request it.
