It is based on the famous painting "Cossacks write a mocking letter to the Turkish Sultan" by Ilya Repin.

Some time during the Second Imperial Civil War, a group of Mandalorians send a profanity filled message to Darth Krayt and his One Sith.

Hondo Karr and his crazy wife are the only canon non-original characters taken from the Legacy comic. Hondo wears black armour, to show he is seeking justice against the false Manda'lor of Mandalore, while his wife wears gold armour to show her quest for vengeance.

It looks like somebody inherited Boba Fett's armour, presumably a descendent via his granddaughter, Mirta Gev.
