original art moment??? hot dang!

this originally started out as a background redraw of something i made in 2020 (aka back when i apparently had no grasp on form) - it was always inspired by the beach in PMD Explorers, so I decided to draw my PMD girls on top of it, as sort of a last-minute decision.

this is Team Aurora - Sabine the maybe-human amnesiac Piplup and her anxious best friend Adalia the Vulpix. i'm not well-practiced in drawing Pokémon (yet) so i settled on gijinkas.

i've actually played most of the way through Explorers when i was sick in 2021 - i restarted because i was grossly underleveled and kept losing to Dusknoir. my current save file is at chapter 10 but i am actually grinding for Amp Plains (because I am still underleveled).

i dunno, i'm just happy with how this came out, and original art tends to do better on dA than either twitter or tumblr (i am still avoiding my instagram)
