Entering Remuda Livery RNG Invitational Weekly Show (Week 376 - Halter Class)
Artist’s Note:
I really loved drawing something like her, natural, but still as different as the others at Dove Mountain, with her markings of extreme pizzazz and her gorgeous shade of Palomino. She just looks stunning, so I’m glad I went for a halter instead of a bit or hackamore, since it shows off more of her funkily beautiful face marking.

Storyline:
Foxy was the fourth and final contestant of the group, although whilst she was last, she was certainly not least. Her more natural colouring and build had been augmented into a full on pizazz with the help of her flashy stockings and large, slashed lantern face, making her devastatingly stunning and earning more than her fair share of looks and starstruck gazes.
Arguably the finest built of those from Dove Mountain attending the classes, what she lacked in brawn and chunk she made up for in finesse and delicacy, her movements were like liquid gold, her light palomino coat gleaming as if her very hairs were made of the glorious and valuable stuff.
She was an auriferous being that definitely looked pretty in pink.
The mare was the picture of perfection in an unusually barbie sort of way, like a Hollywood movie star, Foxy was true to her namesake and the flashiness portrayed by her colours as we paraded and danced through our session in the ring.
The midday sun was high and bold in the sun, setting her coat to slightly twinkle, as if she were part of that fantasmal Akhal-Teke gene, her coat even more golden than when I had been brushing and preparing her only a quarter of an hour or so ago.
Similarly to Juno, Foxy was grateful to bathe in the glow of the sun whilst the sweet older lady and I conversed at great lengths at her specific stamp of the Nordanner and how she as an example was exemplary with that added glitter. She stood there quietly and without disruption further than a gentle nudge for a rub or perhaps even a little titbit treat for her hard work.
Because basking under the sun like a perfectly golden angel surrounded by a crowd she loved to entertain was just so so testing for her.
Nonetheless, she had stood perfectly square and held herself with a high head until it was as if she had the go ahead to let her actress facade slip a bit so she that she slept still with her pricked and alert ears, but her betraying lowering lip and fluttering eyelashes made us both realise what a sweetheart this little lady was.
She had shown through her paces spectacularly, her walk relaxed and free, her trot an even and flowing pace, even accidentally managing to get a few strides of that uphill and loose canter when she had a sudden indulgence of her excitement and let loose a sudden half-kick-half-buck that made both the judge and the small group of other competitions laugh a little, even scrounging a chuckle and a half smile from the stony faced assistants that had learnt how the horses of Dove Mountain were a trouble for being attractive.
Now leading her back, her hips swaying in a slightly lazy yet still swaggering stride, we made our way back to the lorry, where we now preprepared the horses for travelling, suited up in boots and rugs and head collars with bits of fluffy sheepskin attached so that they wouldn’t rub, before finishing off with tying up the tails in their specially thin and stretchy tail bandages.
I took a step back, suddenly feeling that splendidly satisfying feeling of achievement and success, as I looked over the four wonderful bums that all leant to the right side as each and everyone of them dozed in the already apricot suns of the day.
When we eventually departed, it was about two o’clock and the day had been eventful and full of a wonderful joy from not only the beautifully content moments but also the extremely amazing array of people and their equine counterparts that we had all encountered today.
It had been a day full of luck and love and overall enjoyment, for sure.
