Description
This little piece had a lot of firsts for me. It was the first picture with the entire cast (except Lacipo, Zordon and the Alphas, but there wouldn't have been room for them!), in full color.

It was also the first drawing in which I (somewhat successfully) tried profile (without looking at anything!), and, it was the very first picture I drew of Ecliptor.

For a LONG time, this was the only drawing of Ecliptor I had ever done (and even after I drew a second one, this was the only "good" one, until September of 2006).

You see how I used all green for him? Jeez, and then the painting I did last year was black, but it scanned in green. IRONY.

Most of the Rangers look awful. That was the drawback to having 15 of them versus 5 villains. The villains look all ultimate, and the Rangers just look piled up. Carol, (with straight hair!), Amanda, Diane, Steven and Trini look okay, but the rest of them just... bleh.

As you can see, Jason is being an idiot. This was a recurring theme in pretty much all my drawings at the time. Jason was always either completely obscured, or being an idiot. God, poor Jason. I was so awful to him.

So, I was really, REALLY proud of this one when I drew it. I mean, like, if a burglar came into my house and prepared to shoot at this poster, I would have dove into the line of fire.

It is surprising I had so much ambition/patience, though.

Yeah, wow, when I really think about it, I'm right back there working on this in late 1998. It was one of the last "great" pictures before I fell into my slump in early 1999 and all my art began sucking.
