Takes place after:

TW: Writing mentions gore, detailed.

The stench was unbearable, over the past several days it just seemed to seep into the soil beneath his paws and nestle in the leaves far up in the trees. The loner looked at the deceased pale wolf before him, chest no longer moving. Though his own lungs gasped for air but he struggled through it. His body ached, fresh wounds littered his body but he didnt care. It was a hard fight, but another one of the white ghosts that plagued the land like a disease was gone. He made sure it was one of the crazed ones, before making it meet its maker. However it was already wounded, he couldn't take full glory for its death. Though its throat now was severed, and it lay limp like wet leaves at the bottom of pond.

They were barely wolves. Husks for some cause that he didnt care to believe in.

Was it even a cause? It was a parade of death with no end.

Licking the blood from his chin, Macgyver looked towards the cave sight that the wolf seemed to be guarding. ''Well then, let's go see what you were guarding.'' He muttered with a low growl rising in his throat, slowly threading towards the mouth of the cave. Though lacking upright ears, he listened, ensuring no more of the beasts roamed nearby as he met the entrance. The scent of blood was thick in the air, it was not fresh having a bitter-sour smell as he stalked down the slope into the cold stomach of the cave. Blood painted the ground, soaked and old. His breathing got caught in his throat, as he slowed to a stop. ''It seems even you were no match, thank you for wounding it. You made it easier to kill so I thank you, giant.'' He said, eyeing the deceased bear.

Its body was shredded, its intestines were no longer there as its stomach was tore open. Its ribs were cracked and it was just disfigured. It barely resembled a bear, other than its large head slumped to the floor. Flies had made their home along the corpse, young larvae nestled and wriggled in the rotten flesh causing the wolf to look away in disgust. ''Was it eating you while you rot? Or did it come back to see its work?'' Macgyver growled, disgusting beasts.

His claws scrapped across the blood soaked flooring, eyes glinting in the dark. ''I will die before I let these marauders continue their dance of death.''

With that he left the bear to its eternal slumber, glancing at the sky as Ghostface screeched above. It seemed that his winged friend had found something. ''Lead on, friend.''

Macgyvers' Summer Loner prompt!

He doesnt react anymore to the corpses other than disgust to who caused the death, there is too much death to truly be shocked. Growing up in war choked land, you get used to death.
