I feel like an artist again! Heehee. After seeing stuff by people like ~ ninja-ed and ~Chelsee , I realized that I was just doodling again. So I sat down and started sketching. And it turned into this. I used a stock picture for reference. The rest is all me, baby. It took me all day to finish.
This is Donavin, by the way. From my Naruto AU called "Stories from the Roof Top." This is from far down the road in the story. I won't tell you what happens until I have it all planned out. ^_^
Donavin is Gaara in Roof Top. *nods*
Mechanical pencil. All day. Might attack in painter or something, 'cause my pencil shading is still really rough. I really like the grungy window.

*giggles* I used to suck at backgrounds. I still do. You know how I got around it? I stopped treating them as backgrounds. ^_^ I think of it as just extending the figure. Or adding something in. Like the window was an add-in, and the floor boards were just an extention of the figure. *shrugs* It's how I cope with the "background" issue.
As for the detail...it's just scribbles and smudges, mostly. ^_^

Good Job Evil sister! I love the background, THe only thing I see that could be improved is that the torso is a tad bit thin. Other than that everything looks great!

And the torso thing was intentional. Donavin isn't exactly a big guy. And quite skinny, too. Plus it's a really weird angle to get it to look right. XD
