Ash and Gary. Not necessarily Palletshipping or Shishi, I suppose, but close enough. Drawn because I am in love with the concept of yin and yang and I believe that Ash and Gary are a good example of it. I've been reading too much Taoist stuff lately.I'm proud of the lineart. This took so long. D: Unfortunately, I can't draw hands, much less hands clasping, so having their hands be the center and focus of the drawing probably wasn't the best move on my part. Oh well. :B

You can NEVER read too much Taoist stuff, Ceolsige. Taoism is FUCKING AWESOME. I think that the concept of yin and yang definitely describes the relationship between Ash and Gary very accurately. In my opinion, Ash represents yin (femininity, softness, night etc.) and Gary represents yang (masculinity, hardness, day etc.).

Because 'femininity' (and 'masculinity') are relative and subjective concepts describing certain qualities that vary not only from one culture to another but from one era to another. 'Male' and 'female' are genders, 'femininity' and 'masculinity' are relative and subjective concepts. That is how Ash can represent femininity despite being a guy.
